Overreactive   Avoider
Tense muscles.   Avoids lifting heavy objects.
Walks stiff and uncoordinated.   Avoid physical activities, such as sports, that may involve lots of running, jumping, crashing, etc.
Often have rigid or tense posture   Doesn’t engage in playground activities (climbing, swinging, etc).
Locks joints to stabilize movement.   Avoid moving or stretching limbs or other body parts
Can't lift heavy objects.  
Hangs on objects for support.  
Props to support self.  
Have difficulty tolerating other people moving body and hugging.

Underreactive   Seeking
Weak grasp.   Crave highly physical activities and love to play contact sports.
Poor endurance for tasks.   High levels of energy and arousal.
Tires easily, collapses.   Pulls, twists, or chew on things (i.e. shirt, gum, pencil).
May have low muscle tone or other motor issues   Bites or sucks on fingers and/or frequently cracks his/her knuckles .
May have difficulty with fine motor tasks that involve the use of hand held utensils or using zippers or buttons   Grinds his/her teeth throughout the day .
  Chews on pens, straws, shirt sleeves etc.
  Prefers clothes (and belts, hoods, shoelaces) to be as tight as possible .
  Leans, bumps, trips or crashes into objects.
  Seeks out jumping, bumping, and crashing activities .
  Excessive banging on/with toys and objects .
  Frequently falls on floor intentionally .
  Would jump on a trampoline for hours on end .
  Loves jumping off furniture or from high places .
  Stomps feet when walking .
  Kicks his/her feet on floor or chair while sitting at desk/table .
  Loves to be tightly wrapped in many or weighted blankets, especially at bedtime .
  Loves/seeks out "squishing" activities .
  Enjoys bear hugs.
  Frequently crack knuckles or stretch limb.
  Frequently breaks toys or hurts classmates when didn’t mean to.
  Too much pressure when writing (i.e. writes letter over and over again until puts a hole in paper).
  Loves "roughhousing" and tackling/wrestling games .
  Loves pushing/pulling/dragging objects .

Stiff uncoordinated movements.
Poor spatial awareness.
Craves deep pressure sensations on body.
Unaware of obstacles in their pathway.
Difficulty in moving and maintaining posture without the use of direct vision.
Difficulty getting in and out of chair, up and down stairs.
Too tight or too weak grasp on pencil.
Misjudges how much to flex and extend muscles during tasks/activities (i.e., putting arms into sleeves or climbing).
Difficulty regulating pressure when writing/drawing; may be too light to see or so hard the tip of writing utensil breaks.
Written work is messy and he/she often rips the paper when erasing.
Always seems to be breaking objects and toys.
Misjudges the weight of an object, such as a glass of juice, picking it up with too much force sending it flying or spilling, or with too little force and complaining about objects being too heavy.
May not understand the idea of "heavy" or "light"; would not be able to hold two objects and tell you which weighs more.
Seems to do everything with too much force; i.e., walking, slamming doors, pressing things too hard, slamming objects down.
Plays with animals with too much force, often hurting them.
